JOB TITLE: Event Planner

Overall description:

Colorado Community Media is looking for a successful and enthusiastic Event Planner to produce events from conception through completion. Event Coordinator responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and organizing memorable events that meet quality expectations. 


  • Event planning, design and production while managing all project delivery elements within deadlines.
  • Liaise with clients to identify their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  • Conduct market research, gather information and negotiate contracts prior to closing any deals working with venues, vendors, and CCM Advertising Director.
  • Provide feedback and periodic reports to CCM Advertising Director and Publisher. 
  • Propose ideas to improve services and event quality. 
  • Organize facilities and manage all event details such as décor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material and more. 
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health and safety regulations and obligations. 
  • Specify staff requirements and coordinate their activities. 
  • Cooperate with marketing and PR to promote and publicize events. 
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event day.
  • Conduct pre- and post-event evaluations and report on outcomes. 
  • Research the market, identify event opportunities and generate interest.
  • Financial ability to adhere to a plans budget and processing of invoices. 

Requirements and skills: 

  • Proven experience as an Event Planner or Organizer.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills. 
  • Sales skills and ability to build productive business relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently. 
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • References from previous clients/events. 

This position will be in our corporate office in Englewood with the possibility of working remote/work from home. This is a salaried position starting at $40,000/year plus commission, and full benefits available – medical, dental, vision, paid vacation and holidays.
